People Serving with Purpose

Random Acts of Kindness

At GKCU, we take pride in the places we live, work and play. We love helping our members within our branches achieve their savings goals and fulfilling their dreams. We want to do even more though to strengthen our mission to be “People Serving with Purpose”. GKCU employees are being empowered to ‘pay it forward’ with random acts of kindness in the community, or what we call being “KRAFTED”.

It could be a simple card to deployed troops, a gift of treats for pets at the animal shelter, paying for someone’s lunch behind you in the line, or helping someone carry their groceries to their car. We feel that when we take time to acknowledge our neighbors and friends with acts of kindness, that kindness will then be shared with others too. It is often times the smallest efforts to be nice that make the biggest difference in someone’s life.

We hope you will join us on this “KRAFTED” path to kindness and share your stories of paying it forward and adding your acts of kindness to ours. We will post stories and pictures on our social media pages and website to hopefully spark a spirit of kindness from Georgetown & Williamsburg Counties and beyond.

As I took my order and slowly drove away, I looked back in my rear-view mirror, he gave me a thumbs-up and the customer had a smile on her face!
