To make a difference in our future, GKCU understands we must make the investment today. A proud sponsor of Georgetown and Williamsburg County schools, GKCU works in and out of the classroom to give tools and resources needed for our administrators, teachers, students and parents to succeed. In addition to booster clubs, PTA/PTOs, and after-school clubs, GKCU offers up to $15,000 in college scholarships to graduating seniors each year. We also offer in-school deposit days to teach students savings habits at younger ages and offer money management classes at all levels (upon teacher request). Here are just a few we are proud to support:

In The Neighborhood

To make a difference in our community, we all have to do our part to support local non-profits and community groups. These groups provide needed services for the mental and physical well-being of our neighbors and friends. It can range from providing extra hands to distribute food to volunteering to help build walls and doors for new homes to collecting food for our four-legged friends. Many employees serve on local boards including Rotary, Kiwanis and YMCA. GKCU donated over $50,000 this year to local charities to support their fundraising efforts for day-to-day operations. We know that when we work collaboratively, we all win. Here are just a few of the organizations we help and volunteer for:

Black River United Way, Diabetes CORE Group, Family Justice Center, Freedom Readers, Helping Hands of Georgetown, Habitat for Humanity, Healthy Learners Junior Achievement, Kiwanis Club of Georgetown & Pawleys Island, Lions Club, Lowcountry Food Bank, Miss Ruby’s Kids, Saint Francis Animal Shelter, Smith Medical Clinic, SOS CARE, Swamps Fox Players / Strand Theater, Tidelands Community Hospice, The Bunnelle Foundation, The Village Group, Toys for Tots, Williamsburg Regional Hospital Foundation, Winyah Auditorium, YMCA of Georgetown
