GKCU DEBIT CARD Conversion
May 11, 2026
Dear GKCU Members,
Exciting changes to your wallet continue. The next stage of our plastics conversion will be the update to our VISA Debit Cards. GKCU will begin the process of issuing new debit cards to members on June 17, 2026. A new card will be mailed directly to you in the same month in which your current card expires (i.e. if your current card expires in September, no matter what year, you will get your new card in September).
And, after much anticipation, your new GKCU VISA debit card will be a contactless “TAP” card that will give you additional security and convenience when using your card. In addition, your card will have the same great features including:
*Accepted anywhere VISA is taken
*Same debit card number (just a new expiration date)
*Same great access to your checking account for making purchases, paying bills and getting cash
*Control via Card Management, including turning on/off if your card is lost/stolen.
As we make the upgrade, some interruptions to service may occur. Please review the timeline below so you can be aware of down-time and limitations.
June 8-10 – Conversion of ATMs. Limited Access. (6/8 Fraser; 6/9 Bourne & Pawleys Island; 6/10 Andrews & Kingstree)
June 15-17 – Limited (offline) access to debit card transactions and ATM cash withdrawals. Can come into a branch to withdrawal cash from savings / checking.
Please keep updated via our website and social media, as we will be posting progress throughout the day. We look forward to elevating your GKCU checking account access with your new debit card.
